Smoke Alarm Programs

The American Red Cross is looking for Partners to support their “Sound The Alarm” campaign.   Many American Red Cross chapters are partnering with local fire departments to install within the community new long life smoke alarms.   Where American Red Cross chapters are participating,  many are providing to the fire departments with FREE smoke alarms to install in their respective response areas.   Some additional paperwork is required for accountability of smoke alarms and home demographics,  however for little effort this is a perfect partnership for the fire service to conduct a “Door to Door” campaign to assure all homes in your community have working smoke alarms.

The American Red Cross calendars this event to run from April 18 – May 3 each year,  however partnering fire departments are often provided smoke alarms for distribution at other times when needed.

Memorial Day is the unofficial start to the summer and the start of pool season. Drowning is a huge risk for all ages—with younger children at the greatest risk. Of the 3,709 drownings in 2017, more than 12% were children age 4 and younger, according to Injury Facts. Check out the National Safety Council for good resources to create a safer area around water. ... See MoreSee Less
